Why Damita will be a Great Assemblywoman and Should Receive your Vote this November

Dear Fellow Voters of Legislative District 1,

It is my pleasure to highlight why Damita White-Morris will be a great Assemblywoman and should receive your vote this November!

When I first met Damita back in 2019, as she began her term as chair of Bridgeton’s Democratic Party, I was excited to see a person with such passion taking a leadership position. Over the next 4 years I got to watch as Damita worked to improve the Democratic Party in Bridgeton, while at the same time working full time and raising a family. What I admired most about Damita during this time was her commitment to her community. She wasn’t involved in the party to create power for herself but to lift up members of her community. Countless times Damita rose to speak on behalf of the voiceless, to remind the rest of us why we were Democrats.

Her commitment to speak for the voiceless in her community will make Damita a first-class Assemblywoman. She understands the role of government is to work to improve the community. To use the collective power to build a future that benefits all. Damita will have no issue reminding her fellow members of the Legislature who they were elected to serve. Under her leadership LD1 will see commitments from the state that are desperately needed to grow our local economy.

For years our region has ranked last in the state in nearly every metric, being #21 is not an enviable position. Damita knows this and long before running for office she has been working to correct this. I had the pleasure of seeing first hand the work Damita does for her community on many occasions. Most recently in May Damita organized a community round table, with the other municipal chairs of the party, to discuss the issues in Cumberland County and the solutions for those problems. This was such an informative conversation and I learned so much from being a part of it. We discussed homelessness, mental health, education, and employment. Over the course of this conversation, we proposed many different solutions and Damita will be the person to make those changes happen!

Please join me in supporting Damita’s race for state assembly! We need to do all we can from now until November to make sure that she is elected to the State Legislature. If you can make a donation please make one, if you can knock doors then knock every door possible, and/or call family and friends so they get out a vote this year! Damita White-Morris will move us Forward!

Damita Takes Action

I've been in politics for about 5 years. I observed and supported many issues and candidates. And I've been sitting back watching how things are not getting done. I did lots of canvasing and heard people say “my vote doesn't count” and "politicians don't care about the little person" and this has me concerned. My Dad passed away 2 days after I was asked to run. I felt like there was no time better than this to take action and run for office. I don’t want other people with ailing family members to go through what I went through. I need to speak for the real people. People have been making decisions for others without knowing their lives - where they shop - where they go in the community. I want to have a seat at the table to inform our decision makers as to the circumstances of people like me and my community - family and friends. I don’t want someone speaking for me that doesn’t know and understand me. All those times I spoke to you when you opened your door while I was canvassing - I was listening. I hear you. I got you. Take a look at my ISSUES page as I continue to build this website so you understand the journey it takes to lead. It starts with listening and involvement. That's me - Damita White-Morris and I need your vote for Assembly for LD1 this fall! Please vote and help me win!
